Adobe Firefly Integrations in Illustrator and Photoshop

As a Lightroom user who finds Adobe Bridge a clunky and awkward way of reviewing images from a shoot, this closer integration with Lightroom is to be welcomed. Meanwhile more AI tools, powered by Firefly, the umbrella term for Adobe’s arsenal of AI technologies, are now generally available in Photoshop. These include Generative Fill, Generative Expand, Generate Similar and Generate Background powered by Firefly’s Image 3 Model. I think this is a fantastic new tool from Adobe that could save photographs that otherwise would’ve been discarded due to a distracting reflection. I can see the Reflection Removal tool being used in many instances, such as a photograph from the window of a house or airplane, where the reflection is so strong it detracts from the image’s primary focus. Adobe then runs the simulated photograph through its AI model and asks it to pull out the original without reflections.

You can also get the Adobe Elements Bundle consisting of both Photoshop and Premiere Elements—for video editing and image editing—for a total of $149.99 or discounted to $119.99 to upgrade an existing license. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 30 years, you likely already know what Photoshop is—Adobe’s flagship image editing software. While it began as a disk you’d purchase (and own) to install on your computer, it now exists as part of the Adobe Creative Cloud plan. Adobe offers a range of tools, Photoshop and Photoshop Elements being two options with very similar features. If you don’t know much about Photoshop Elements, this article will provide valuable insights to help you determine which of the two suits you best.

For example, the company stipulates that the Credit consumption rates above are for what it calls “standard images” that have a resolution of up to 2,000 by 2,000 pixels — the original maximum resolution of Firefly generative AI. However, Adobe Firefly has a web-based version that is free to try out. It lets them mix AI-generated elements into their work while keeping their unique style consistent. There are also options for custom brushes, textures, and blending modes for various creative choices. I’ve been using generative AI for a few years now and can appreciate and understand the concerns expressed above – but also recognize that this technology is not going away. We must do what we can to address the ethical concerns brought up here and make sure to use our awareness of these problematic issues to further guide the direction of these technologies as we rapidly advance forward. Using the variations in your prompt will produce dozens of images, fast. You can change almost anything in the image, from individual elements to art styles or textures. Adobe announces new tools and features often, and sometimes rolls them out in unexpected ways.

Click on the blemish in the photo, and Photoshop will automatically blend it away!

This includes respecting creators’ rights and never training the development of AI by using customer content. Adobe Firefly is the technology powering the new generative AI innovations in both Photoshop and Illustrator. And with great power comes responsibility so Adobe says it wants to be a trusted partner for creators in a way that is respectful and supportive of the creative community. Designers can also test product packaging with multiple patterns and design options, exploring ads with different seasonal variations and producing a range of designs across product mockups in endless combinations. Further, PetaPixel argues that Adobe did not provide users with a satisfactory level of notification that these changes were taking place.

You probably know that Adobe has virtually no documentation that is actually helpful if you’ve tried to look up how to prompt well in Photoshop.
